Pictures at night....

So yesterday we didnt get up in time so we postponed the trip until this morning. I took Brittany on a walk to the place where you can overlook florence and then onto the bridge with the houses and shops on it. Here are some pictures!

Lovely night shots!! You are developing quite a dramatic photographer's eye. Nicely composed. The portraits are very well-done.

Have fun on your trip.

Global travel does mysterious things to people. Who would have thought that you had a photographer's eye? I dig the composition of your shots. I'm thinking you went over there as a chef but you might come back a photographer, writer and a gourmet chef. That's a solid package.

FYI, your camera has an "ISO" setting on it. If you go into the manual you can crank the ISO up to 800 I believe. Basically, that's the "speed" of your film and even though you're not shooting film, the same concept for capturing light in your photos still applies. If you crank the ISO way up you should have better luck/results shooting some of those night time shots. OR, you can look for a simple 6 foot tripod to carry around with you at night. It's really hard to get non-blurry nighttime shots shooting handheld. The shutter needs to stay open longer in order to capture enough light to imprint an image on the film, or in your case electronic sensor. Most people can pull of a steady shot at a shutter speed of 1/50th of second but generally if tripod will get you the best results.

Great shots though! Seriously! Composition is what it's all about, the rest comes with practice/experience.

The fall colors are really poppin' around here right now. I'll send you a picture so you can see.

I apologize for not posting as much but trust me, I am reading your posts every day. I have to, I'm hooked. Oh, and seriously, I am looking into putting a paypal button on your blog. You never know... someone might want to donate to your cause.

Remember Kyle's girl, Leslie? The one that plays for the U.S. Soccer team? She's over in China right now for the 2007 World Cup. She is doin' it real big! Check out this article that was on ESPN about her and their most recent game. "LINK TO ESPN ARTICLE"

We'll try calling you tomorrow. Much love man!

Great photos. I love the night shots with the grainy texture, the Duomo, tree, and the window. Really nice.
