Trying out video.

Lst night we went to another night club, Central park. Its about a 20 minute walk from my flat, just past the train station. When we got there we told them we were international students and they got us to the front of the line and gave us the discounted entry. We got there about 1230 and although there was tons of people there no one was dancing. Everyone was hanging out around in the lounges and seats. The club had three dance floors, one main one and then a hip hop one and another one i never saw. Everything is lit up in bright neon, from the columns to the bar to the dance floor. Just like the other club we went to this one is outside, which was great because the weather was perfect. I went with a few of my roommates but there were lots of american students that i had already met. For some random reason about 15 minutes later everyone all of a sudden filled up the dance floor. At the front where the dj stand is there were two raised areas that had a girl each that would dance. The music here also was a little different than im used to. They played some rap and pop music but also had alot of house and techno and even some YMCA (which i posted a video of). All the Italians would go crazy for random songs that we havent listened to for like 5 years. It was cool though. They were very into their dancing. Not alot of grinding like in the states although there was some. I danced for a while and the energy on the dance floor was alot different then at home. It seemed to be more about dancing than who you were dancing with. Guys and girls would be just dancing for hours bythemselves, really getting down. At home there might be one or two people that really like to dance that much where theyll dance by themselves but here there were lots of people doing that. Supposedly the Ying Yang Twins (a rap group) are coming next month, which should be fun. (if i dont have home work of course) It was a really good experience. Definitely a step up from the midnight mine.

ha! yeah, a step up from the midnight mine. Yeah, just one step up, right?

The dance scene sounds like it might take some getting use to. You make a good point, over here it's definitely more about who you're dancing with, rather than having fun dancing by yourself. I can't recall ever getting on a dance floor by myself just for the hell of it. That's cool though.

What time do the clubs close over there? The video was cool to look at. Will it let you post a longer one? Any chance you took a picture of the outside of that club?

Sunday morning over here, the sun is shining but it's 45 degrees. Ella's reading her book about horses, Meadow's at church, and Symone is pulling your DVD's off the shelf one at a time. (kidding)

Good talking talking to you yesterday. We'll be in touch.

YMCA!! Haven't heard the Village People in a while. I must have been in Tuscaloosa pre-Alex the last time.

Now you are a cinematographer too--amazing! Pretty sharp of you to mention homework and put the parental types' minds at ease.

I was always a fan of dancing with myself, the concept and the Billy Idol song:

On the floor of tokyo
Or down in london town to go, go
With the record selection
With the mirror reflection
Im dancing with myself

When theres no-one else in sight
In the crowded lonely night
Well I wait so long
For my love vibration
And Im dancing with myself

Oh dancing with myself
Oh dancing with myself
Well theres nothing to lose
And theres nothing to prove
Ill be dancing with myself

If I looked all over the world
And theres every type of girl
But your empty eyes
Seem to pass me by
Leave me dancing with myself

So lets sink another drink
cause itll give me time to think
If I had the chance
Id ask the world to dance
And Ill be dancing with myself

***

Oh dancing with myself
Oh dancing with myself
If I had the chance
Id ask the world to dance
If I had the chance
Id ask the world to dance
If I had the chance
Id ask the world to dance

I liked the video lights and could feel the beat. It's great that it is out door in the night air. I loved being in places where there are no doors and it's open to the airs. Sounds fun.

How can I drink my tea without my morning blog? Looking forward to hearing about the dinner.

Also interested in hearing about "Tradition of Italian Food" and "Intro to Professional Cooking." Hope the classes are as fascinating as Firenze.
